Early
2003 - Launch Team Development
In early 2003, Rick Mysse (former pastor of El
Dorado Park Church) discussed the possibility of planting
a new church in the Long Beach area. After a great deal of
prayer and planning, we began developing a launch team from
April to August 2003 - meeting during the week and worshipping
together on Sundays.
September 2003 - Grand Opening Month
Through wide-scale promotion and outreach - inviting our community
to join us, we began our "grand opening month" on September
14, 2003 with several hundred people joining us that morning. As
more and more people chose to join us at Revolution, we recognized
a need for a larger meeting location and chose to become a portable church.
February 2006 - Going Portable
In February of 2006, we held a "grand re-opening month"
as we started meeting on the campus of Artesia High School - at
the corner of Norwalk and Del Amo in Lakewood, California.
September 2006 - Evening Gathering Added
In an effort to reach those who normally work on Sunday mornings (or just sleep in from a late Saturday night), a Sunday evening gathering was launched.
April 2007 - Revolution Downey Launch
35 men and women became the initial launch team and began to plan and prepare to launch Revolution Downey. On April 8, 2007, Revolution became one church with two locations by launching a second Sunday location at Columbus High School in Downey.
January 2008 - Revolution Long Beach Launch
75 men and women from the Revolution Lakewood 6pm
service planned and launched a 3rd location at The Nugget
Grill and Pub in Long Beach on Sundays at 6pm.
Fall 2008 - Revolution Carson Launch
A group of men and women are beginning to gather as a launch team to start Revolution's 4th location in Carson at the Carson Community Center - launching in Fall 2008.
The Future
We envision Sunday gatherings in communities surrounding Long Beach and wherever else Jesus invites us to join him in bringing hope and healing to the world.
